Wenn die Lebkuchen rufen!
For the short film “Lebkuchen”, I was responsible for art direction and large parts of the production, shaping the film’s visual identity from concept to final execution.
My role covered the complete visual world of the film: I designed all on-screen graphics and visual elements, defined the look and feel of the sets, and closely collaborated with camera and lighting to ensure a cohesive aesthetic. I also supervised set design, props, costumes, and makeup, making sure every detail supported the story and its emotional tone. In addition, I created the end credits, extending the visual language seamlessly through the final frame.
Beyond art direction, I was heavily involved in production, supporting the organizational and creative processes that brought the film to life.
“Lebkuchen” tells the story of a chance encounter on Christmas Eve at a remote rest stop, where a Christmas skeptic meets a mysterious stranger — a quiet, intimate narrative about connection, vulnerability, and unexpected warmth. Translating this atmosphere visually was central to my work, focusing on restrained details, mood, and emotional clarity rather than spectacle.
